Did you know that September is national Better Breakfast Month? Well, it is, and for good reason! Most people have heard the saying “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” and yet breakfast is the most commonly skipped meal (“More Than Half of Americans Skip Breakfast at Least Once a Week, Study Says”). The most common reason people skip breakfast seems to be either not feeling hungry in the morning or being too busy to stop and have a meal.
We here at Indian River Select take our breakfast seriously! Let us enlighten you as to why; Research has shown that eating breakfast jump-starts your metabolism, balances blood sugar levels, assists in weight management, even promotes heart health and improves cognitive function. In addition, consuming a healthy breakfast also helps you burn more calories throughout the day. This is because when you skip breakfast your body gets a message to conserve any incoming calories instead of burning them (“Why You Should Eat Breakfast” “This is the Best Time to Eat Breakfast According to a Dietician”). Skipping breakfast is linked to overeating later in the day. If you pass on breakfast, you may feel totally zapped of energy which makes you more likely to eat more at other meals. Not to mention, no one wants to be “hangry” first thing in the morning. According to WebMDbreakfast gives you the opportunity to get in some vitamins and nutrients from healthy foods like dairy, grains, and fruits. That’s where we come in, have a glass of our Indian River Select Brand Orange or Ruby Red Grapefruit juice and take the opportunity to make sure you get some important vitamins in[EV1] , and set yourself up for a good day! Fun fact: one 8oz glass of orange or grapefruit juice contains 120% of your daily value of Vitamin C and is a good source of Vitamin D, Thiamin (or vitamin B1) and carotenoids (which act as a type of antioxidant) (“Orange Juice Health Benefits”).
This September let’s make a point to celebrate Better Breakfast month the right way and try to go the whole month without skipping breakfast! Those who seem to always be running late in the morning may want to begin planning to wake up a little earlier than usual to give themselves a little time to whip up a good breakfast every day. We know waking up extra early can be a bummer, but your body will thank you for it!
[EV1]We can claim vit c and others. I think this may be too broad. You may want to say – some important vitamins. Get your vitamins seems like it is comprehensive.
