Meal prepping isn’t just for women or a big fad. It’s an efficient and smart way to save yourself time in the short and long run, so healthy, convenient meals can be an all-the-time thing instead of a some-of-the-time thing. This is just as easy for men as it is for women. Even if prepping a week’s worth of meals might sound complicated and you see yourself eating at a fast food chain for lunch after a week it’s actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it, and edit to your likes and dislikes.
Bonus: It will save you time in the long run. (Not to mention money, since you’ll no longer be buying lunch at work……that adds up!)
Step One: Consult Your Calendar
Look at what day is easiest for you to spend an hour or so making your meals. The day AND the time that you’ll be able to commit to.
Step Two: Make A Menu
Think about what foods are healthy that you can imagine not only eating yourself on the regular, but works well as a prepped meal, but also fits into your weakly budget. You don’t have to eat the same thing every day. You’re creating these meals, so do what YOU like.
Step Three: Hit The Grocery Store
This part seems easy, but it’s best to make a list ahead of time and not only have the ingredients that you need, but the accessories for the food as well.
Step Four: Prep and Pack
This is the moment where your shopping, your calendar, and your menu pay off. You cook what must be cooked and separate fruits, veggies, nuts, and other items as desired. When finished, store till it’s time.
Step Five: Enjoy The Fruits Of Your Labor
Not only have you created a delicious meal ahead of time, saved money on take out, but because your meal is already ready you can actually take a break at lunch time, or if your day is too busy to eat, you can plow through your workload while eating.
