Spring Clean Your Life

Spring Clean Your Life

Flowers are blooming and the sun is shinning…and Spring is here!  It’s time to air out everything that’s been collecting dust over the cold, dark winter months. Spring cleaning isn’t just for your home. You can clean up mental clutter and renew your mind and your soul!  Merge the two together and start fresh.  Spring provides the ideal opportunity to take a look at what makes up your life – from home to tech to relationships – and reset. It’s the perfect time to get rid of all the things taking up unnecessary space in your world. Let’s start the sunny season feeling light & refreshed.

  • Clean Your Phone Out – The amount of stuff that piles up on a computer or phone over a year is insane. Go through all your folders, pictures, apps, etc.
  • Check Your Tech – This is a good time to re-do all your passwords for proper protection. It’s a pain, but log into all major accounts and change it up.
  • Get A Hair Cut – Our locks go through a lot. Freezing rain, snow and negative temperatures can do a number on our hair. Call up your stylist and knock a few inches off. Fresh ends for a new season can be a huge confidence booster.
  • Clean Out Your Email – Unsubscribe to unwanted emails and delete unneeded items in your inbox.
  • Schedule some “You” time – Whether it’s a massage, a mani/pedi, or a trip to the movies alone, make some personal time just for you.
  • Give Your Attitude a Reboot – After a winter of discontent, it becomes a habit to allow negativity to dominate our thoughts and words.
  • Get Back to Nature – Next time you’re at the grocery store bring a bouquet of flowers home to brighten up your space. If you’re into gardening try to get the kids involved in the process. Maybe go to a local nature center or outdoor park and just take in all the fresh, new beauty and enjoy the pick me up of being outdoors.
  • Shake up your routine -Our lives become boring and stale when we do the same things day in and day out. Even small changes, like going a different route to work or having your breakfast before your shower rather than after, can make you feel motivated and different.
  • If you have a desk in your home, get minimal. Open notebooks and rip out used pages then recycle. See if the pens work too.
  • Clean Your Closet – Maybe there is a pair of jeans in there that you haven’t worn since high school or piles of clothes that you’re saving for when you finally lose that weight or gain weight back again.
  • Start a Meal Plan – Dedicate a night off each week to meal prepping, and prepare your food for the week and find a diet that works for you.  If you haven’t yet our Indian River Select® Brand Grapefruit Juice Diet is here for a free and easy download and is great for long term goals.
  • Clean Out The Car – Open the glove compartment, go under the seats, and don’t forget the trunk! After it’s clean, give it some love with a full wash – inside and out.
  • Clean Out Misc. Drawers – You know that junk drawer where all receipts, recipes, and cards go? Recycle anything outdated or irrelevant.
